There have been daily demonstrations in Belgrade and other urban
centers since the municipal elections in Serbia on November 17,
1996. These demonstrations resulted in severe injuries on December
24, 1996 when pro- and anti-government demonstrators clashed.
American citizens are urged to exercise caution around all such
demonstrations and rallies.

Sheet on Serbia and Montenegro dated January 31, 1996.
This Public Announcement will expire on January 31, 1997.
