Serbia and Montenegro - Warning
June 12, 1992
The Department of State warns U.S. citizens to defer all travel to
Serbia (including Kosovo and Vojvodina) and Montenegro until further
notice. In compliance with the U.N. resolution mandating the
reduction of Embassy staffs, the Department of State will be
reducing the size of its mission in Belgrade and authorizing the
voluntary departure from the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade of
non-essential personnel and dependents of U.S. Government employees.
The Department advises U.S. citizens in Serbia and Montenegro to
leave immediately while commercial transportation is still
available. U.S. citizens who remain in Serbia and Montenegro should
contact the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, tel. 645-655, for information
and assistance.

This replaces the travel advisory for Yugoslavia dated February 21,
1992, and advises that the Department of State has authorized the
voluntary departure from Serbia and Montenegro of non-essential
personnel and dependents of U.S. Government employees and that U.S.
citizens should also leave immediately.
